Wikholm

If it’s not snowing in Bergen in Norway then it’s likely that the grass is growing and weeds are sprouting. Local contractor Wikholm has found that the Multihog tractor, along with various attachments, offers him a year round solution for both of these tasks. The Multihog’s versatility is an ideal fit with the company’s services which include street and highway maintenance, landscaping, ground care and winter clearance.

Wikholm’s first Multihog was delivered at the beginning of 2016 with the primary purpose of being used with front and rear mounted thermal weed control attachments. Thermal weed control is one of the most sustainable weed removal methods available, applying hot water to the leaves of vegetation at a temperature of 98-99°C to ensure chemical free and eco-friendly eradication of weeds. The compact dimensions of the Multihog MX 120 tractor means that even the narrowest areas can be accessed to keep any unwanted growth at bay.

In the winter season a 2 metre (6.5 ft) combi snow plough and brush attachment and a 1.3m³ (46 ft³) salt spreader are fitted to the base unit to ensure efficient clearance of snow and ice across the city.

The second Multihog, a CX 75, arrived in Bergen at the beginning of 2017 and replaced a Spanish brand of tool carrier. This machine is equipped with a tipping body that can be used for carrying tools or for general storage. The two Multihogs now offer a comprehensive year round service for Wikholm whatever the weather and job in hand.

Director Stein Wikholm is impressed with the Multihog’s build and performance, as well as the customer service: “It’s a super machine, solid and reliable, and we will definitely look at buying more in future. From our driver’s point of view it also offers a high level of comfort which is an important issue in our climate. It is also great to deal with a company such as Multihog whose personnel are so helpful! Their sales team is always there for us if we have any questions or need advice.”
