It was during a visit to the IFAT exhibition in 2014 that the mayor of Riegersburg in Austria, Manfred Reisenhofer and his municipal colleagues saw the Multihog range for the first time. Having made an excellent first impression at the show, less than 6 months later a 120HP MXC model was already delivered and operating in the Südoststeiermark district.
With the merging of five municipalities in the region at the start of 2015, Riegersburg now must maintain an extra 250 kilometres of road – making the Multihog more essential than ever in efficiently covering the growing workload. For winter service the Multihog is kitted out with a snow plough, a de-icing sprayer and a salt spreader. Following the success of its first winter in operation, the municipality also experienced the machine’s all-season use during the summer months, with a fork attachment, mulcher, sweeper and watering arm all keeping the MXC120 busy during the warmer weather.
According to Mr Reisenhofer, there were a number of reasons why the municipality settled on Multihog for their purchase: “I’ve looked at equipment from lots of different manufacturers, but the concept of the multifunctional Multihog made an exceptionally positive impression. We had very convincing demonstrations from the Multihog team, as well as support from the Pappas Group dealership, both of which influenced our decision to purchase a top of the range Multihog machine. The crucial factors for us were the quality, high payload, compact dimensions and also the impressive power of the vehicle.”
Wolfgang Sammer, the municipality’s Multihog operator, is also very happy with the new addition: “The Multihog is super, it’s more manoeuvrable than other equipment and the cabin is really comfortable. The view is good, and even during long shifts I don’t feel tired.”
"The suspension really allows an incredibly high level of driver comfort, and we’re amazed by the performance of the PTO hydraulics."
"The Multihog has performed very well on the reliability front compared to other machines. It’s a really solid and extremely strong machine."
"My colleagues are so much happier using this machine. It’s more ergonomic, warm and comfortable for them."
"Our 2 machines can do so many things, and although they’re small and compact, they’re so well built that they do the work of much larger equipment"
"The Multihog puts us at a professional level that’s unmatched by our competition"
"The Multihogs are working really well for us. The operators have found them straightforward to use and we hope to add to our range of attachments."
"The Multihog doesn’t vibrate like our old machine, and it’s so quiet I don’t even need to wear ear protection - no post-shift fatigue anymore!"
DHL at Leipzig-Halle airport operate a fleet of 12 Multihog tractors equipped with combi snow plough & brush attachments, de-icing sprayers and V snow
"It’s one machine that does it all - safely and efficiently. Very comfortable in the cabin too, which makes work more enjoyable for the operator."
"The only way to compare the Multihog to other machines is to compare the comfort of an old vintage car to a brand new car. - there is no comparison"
"At that point the snow is super dense, icy and solid; it’s pretty hard to shift, but it’s no problem for the MX. This tractor is really, really good"
"Our asphalt grinding process is faster and more efficient now, we tested it and we’re definitely covering more feet per hour than before"
"The Multihog is a different animal from anything we’ve ever had – the articulation, rubberised tyres and 4-wheel drive ticks a lot of our boxes."
“We try to improve our operations with each new purchase of equipment & this has certainly been the case with the acquisition of our Multihogs"
“I really liked the machine from the first moment I saw it, and it will definitely be a valued addition for smoother airside operations at Bucharest.“
“The Multihog system is simply better all-round, from a cost-performance ratio it is unbeatable and the budgetary savings are positive for everyone"
"We had a huge problem with potholes but our programme of permanent patching repairs using the Multihog has helped to rectify the situation"
"During the very heavy snow in early 2013 the Multihogs were still going strong after four days of non-stop 24 hour operation"
“Throughout our dealings with Multihog the company has been totally customer focused, committed and very responsive to our requirements"
“The ability to use the Multihog for very diverse tasks coupled with a very powerful performance make it an efficient and cost effective solution"
"The crucial factors for us were the quality, high payload, compact dimensions and also the impressive power of the vehicle."
"The quality of the finished cut is very good: thanks to the Multihog’s steering and its weight it doesn’t leave any tracks behind on the grass.”
