Since the Swiss municipality of Le Noirmont replaced an old utility tractor with a much more manoeuvrable and versatile Multihog it has been able to acquire a variety of additional new attachments. As a consequence a much wider range of maintenance and mowing activities can now be carried out for the benefit of the local community. The mountainous region sees a fair amount of snow so it comes as no surprise that winter equipment that could work with the Multihog MXC 120 model was a high priority. A powerful Zaugg snow blower and a Zaugg snow plough can be used together with a rear mounted 1m³ capacity Gmeiner Husky salt spreader to make light work of clearing even large build ups of snow and ice.
The narrow chassis width combined with the high carrying capacity of the MXC 120 HP model and its road speed of 40 km/hr was a particular draw for Le Noirmont as M. Olivier Villat, Head of Public Works explains: “The Multihog and snow blower can travel from one job to the next much more quickly than our old tractor, which was limited to 30 km/hr, and it has considerably improved productivity in and around the 20km of roads we maintain. The compact dimensions also ensure access to narrow paths and confined areas for comprehensive clearance in the winter.”
The Multihog’s ability to work on inclines and off road makes it the ideal implement carrier for the summer months for mowing the slopes and other green spaces in Le Noirmont and for keeping vegetation in check on roadside verges. A front mounted Fiedler FFA400 boom mower and a Stoll rotary mower with a 2.2m³ collection box can be interchanged depending on the task in hand. There is also a rear mounted container available at the public works depot that can be fitted to the Multihog when it needs to be used for general transportation of equipment.
“Our Multihog model, recommended and supplied by Robert Aebi Landtechnik, has coped very well with all the demands that have been made on it,” said M. Villat. “It is a year round asset for us, as it is for our driver Thierry, who appreciates the comfort in the cab, the ease of operation and the good all round visibility.”
"The driving experience absolutely convinced me. I love driving it, the suspension is amazing. To be honest, the comfort level could not be better."
I knew it must be a really good piece of equipment, and my instincts were right - our two machines have been operating flawlessly.
“Since the purchase of our first Multihog in 2019, they have proven to be a valuable asset in our machinery fleet."
"I recognized straight away that a Multihog could serve our city well. We’ve got 8 attachments for it, and it’s taken the place of multiple machines."

DHL at Leipzig-Halle airport operate a fleet of 12 Multihog tractors equipped with combi snow plough & brush attachments, de-icing sprayers and V snow
"It’s one machine that does it all - safely and efficiently. Very comfortable in the cabin too, which makes work more enjoyable for the operator."

"At that point the snow is super dense, icy and solid; it’s pretty hard to shift, but it’s no problem for the MX. This tractor is really, really good"
"Our asphalt grinding process is faster and more efficient now, we tested it and we’re definitely covering more feet per hour than before"
"The Multihog is a different animal from anything we’ve ever had – the articulation, rubberised tyres and 4-wheel drive ticks a lot of our boxes."
